LB. LSU. 31. player. 42. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Patrick Queen

The 49ers were one or two plays away from winning the Super Bowl but they couldn’t stop Mahomes and the Chiefs late in the fourth quarter. The 49ers have a great defensive line but they could use more speed at the second level of the defense. There aren’t many linebackers who play as fast as Queen. The LSU linebacker flashed all season but played his best in the biggest games. Half of his tackles for loss and sacks came in games against Alabama, Georgia in the SEC Championship Game and playoff games vs. Oklahoma and Clemson.

124. Pick Analysis. RB. LSU. Clyde Edwards-Helaire. player. Scouting Report. 32

The Kansas City Chiefs have the luxury of having the best quarterback on the planet and being reigning Super Bowl champions without any glaring weaknesses. Drafting a pass-rusher, lineman or cornerback is never a bad idea. But if you want to see the Chiefs offense go nuclear, you add Clyde Edwards-Helaire to the equation. The LSU product was a safety valve for Burrow in the passing game last year and is a powerful runner despite being 5-foot-8.

He’s a better receiver than Maurice Jones-Drew but not quite the rusher he was coming out of UCLA. Jonathan Taylor is a better pure running back and definitely a consideration for the Chiefs here but Edwards-Helaire does so much to help the passing game, he could catch 80 high-percentage passes from Mahomes and do for the Chiefs what Kamara has done for the Saints.
