Pick Analysis. DE. Scouting Report. Ohio State. Chase Young. 3. player. 50

The Detroit Lions would do cartwheels if Young fell to them at No. 3 in the 2020 NFL Draft. They still should in this mythical all-college draft. Young may be the best defensive end prospect over the last decade.

His stats put him ahead of former Ohio State ends, Nick Bosa and Joey Bosa who were the No. 2 and No. 3 picks when they came out. He is on par statistically with former No. 1 pick Myles Garrett. He has better production than former No. 1 pick Jadeveon Clowney but is not in that same rarefied air of his otherworldly athleticism.

He’s still a heckuva player who is a certifiable steal at the No. 3 pick. He’d be a perennial double-digit sack producer and Pro Bowler.

Scouting Report. Oregon. player. Pick Analysis. OT. Penei Sewell. 4. 31

The New York Giants have invested first round picks in quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley the last two years. Now, general manager Dave Gettleman gives Jones some protection and Barkley gets a bulldozer to help open holes in the run game.

Penei Sewell was one of the best players in the nation last year, but no one really noticed because he’s an offensive lineman. The Oregon Ducks had the best offensive line last year in large part because of the ultra-athletic and powerful Sewell. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities for Sewell to finish among the top five or six Heisman finalists last year. He’s that special.
