2. Leonard Fournette will average under four yards per carry

Twenty years ago Fournette would have been one of the most valuable running backs in football. His value in the modern era is greatly reduced. The Jaguars are going to continue to feed him the ball in 2020, but his efficiency is set to decline in a major way.

Fournette just isn’t the sort of player who thrives when his team is struggling to win games. He might start out the season OK, but his effort level will start to wane when the Jaguars go on a losing streak.

When a physical back like Fournette isn’t playing with maximum effort they become very average in a short amount of time. He lacks the explosion to get away from opposing defenders. If he goes down on first contact he’s largely worthless as a running back.

His performance is going to go in the tank when the Jaguars start tanking. They’ll keep feeding him massive carries, but Fournette is going to get shut down by eight man fronts on a weekly basis. The final result will be a putrid average of less than four yards per carry.
