3rd round

Gettleman paid Odell Beckham Jr. like the star that he is. He then turned around and traded him last offseason, leaving a large hole at the wide receiver position.

Golden Tate was signed as a free agent and Gettleman drafted Darius Slayton in the fifth round of last April’s draft. Those two joined Sterling Shepard to fill out the top three receivers.

Daniel Jones needs more targets and getting a younger option would be key. Antonio Gandy-Golden will fall to day two, and he is an under-the-radar option for Gettleman.

If you haven’t heard of Gandy-Golden, it’s probably because he didn’t play at a top program in a power conference. Instead, he played his Division I football at Liberty University. In two years there, he had 2,433 yards, 150 receptions and 20 touchdowns. Each season he had 1,000-plus yards, 70-plus catches and exactly 10 scores.

Gandy-Golden playing in a lesser conference is why he sits lower on the board. Nevertheless, his numbers are still legit. He is bigger than any receiver the Giants currently have. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing in at 223 pounds, he ran a 4.6 second 40-yard dash at the NFL Draft Combine with a 36-inch vertical.

Don’t get caught up in where Gandy-Golden went to school. There was a receiver by the name of Victor Cruz out of the University of Massachusetts who the Giants took a chance on once upon a time. He turned out to be pretty good.
