The Chicago Bears are short on picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, but here’s how they can use the selections they have.

The Chicago Bears went 12-4 and won the NFC North in 2018, then they somewhat predictably fell to 8-8 last year. A good defense that forced a bunch of takeaways in 2018 had less fortune in that area last year, and the flaws of quarterback Mitch Trubisky couldn’t be covered up enough.

The offseason has brought some head-scratching moves. Tight end Jimmy Graham was signed to a multi-year deal, and quarterback Nick Foles was acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a fourth-round pick this year.

The Bears gave up their 2020 first and third-round picks to get Khalil Mack from the Raiders two years ago, though they did recoup a seventh-rounder in that deal. They also got an extra sixth-round pick in the trade that sent running back Jordan Howard to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Chicago only has two picks in the first 100 selections this year, so they’ll have to hit on some late-round guys to have the 2020 draft bear fruit.

Here’s how the 2020 NFL Draft could go for the Chicago Bears.

Round 1

As mentioned, the Bears traded their first-round pick (No.19 overall), to the Raiders in the Khalil Mack trade. Unless some more future draft capital is mortgaged, they can sit, observe and plan on the first night of the draft.
