Fourth Round

133. Scouting Report. Tennessee Volunteers. Darrell Taylor. player. 839. Pick Analysis. EDGE

Seattle has two picks in the fourth round this year. With their first pick in the fourth round coming in at No. 133 overall, it would be advantageous for the Seahawks to satisfy their remaining primary draft need by getting a pass-rusher coming off the edge. Fortunately, they should be able to get an excellent player in that role with that pick in Darrell Taylor out of Tennessee.

Taylor is 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds. The redshirt senior had a pair of eight-sack seasons as an upperclassmen at Tennessee playing for Jeremy Pruitt. Though the end of the Butch Jones era in Knoxville went up in flames, Taylor was a valuable pass-rushing commodity who helped the Vols get back to a bowl game in 2019 by catching fire in the second half of their season.

Vanderbilt Commodores. Jared Pinkney. 887. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. TE. 144

The Seahawks’ second pick in the fourth round comes in the compensatory part of it at No. 144 overall. Since the Seahawks are a well-run organization, they can afford to take a risk on a promising tight end, but an often-injured one in Jared Pinkney out of Vanderbilt. When he’s healthy, he can be a very good player.

Pinkney is 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds. Though he only played in double-digit games once as a collegiate in Nashville, his junior campaign was an impressive one. In 13 games, Pinkney had 50 catches for 774 yards and seven touchdowns. This was in Vanderbilt’s offense, one that has struggled to throw the ball consistently since James Franklin left for Penn State a few years ago.
