3rd round

817. . OL. Tigers . Saahdiq Charles. 66. player

Not having a second-round pick leaves Washington in a somewhat tough spot given the team’s current needs. Getting players who can make an immediate impact in rounds three and four will therefore be critical to being able to compete next season.

Saahdiq Charles helped protect Joe Burrow’s blindside last season at LSU and is one of the most athletic offensive line prospects in the class. Charles’ footwork and fluidity give him a good chance to have guard/tackle flexibility at the next level, depending on where Washington would prefer to use him.

The status of Trent Williams remains up in the air and even after using the franchise tag on Brandon Scherff, his inability to stay healthy could leave him out of Washington’s long-term plans. That leaves the door wide open for the organization to focus on the offensive line in round three and Charles is a great fit.
