4. Noah Fant will catch 70 passes

Young quarterbacks typically use tight ends as their safety blankets. Lock has a great option in the form of Noah Fant. Look for the second-year pro’s production to explode in 2020.

It’s not as if Fant wasn’t a factor in his rookie campaign. He chipped in with 40 catches for 562 yards and three touchdowns. He certainly showed flashes of his big play potential from the tight end spot.

Now it’s time for Fant to step up and show that he can be relied on as one of the team’s top receivers on a weekly basis. To do that, he needs to show the coaching staff he can be counted on to block as well as catch the ball in open space. A full offseason of NFL weight training should allow him to grow into a passable blocker.

The result of his hard work and Lock’s insertion into the starting lineup will see Fant’s production nearly double. 70 catches for 800 yards or so seems like a reasonable production for the talented tight end in 2020. He should be moved up fantasy draft boards accordingly.
