Detroit Red Wings: Battle Cry by Jack White

Now this is your prototypical hockey goal song. It’s quite simple when compared to other songs they’ve had in the past, but the guitar is quite something and makes for a fierce track when in tandem with the drums and claps.

Edmonton Oilers: Stadium Love by Metric

I’m biased here cause I really like Metric. It’s great to hear a woman rock vocalist in a goal song world that is — admit it — mostly populated by men. And it’s a really toe-tapping song, which is what you want for a goal song, plus it’s got points for the crowd to sing along too, which makes for the best kind of goal song.

Florida Panthers: Na Na Na by My Chemical Romance

Hockey should really be dipping more into the 1990s to 2000s emo rock, because there are some incredible jams in there. My Chemical Romance makes great music, and yet the Panthers only had this song as their goal song for a very short period of time? For shame.

Los Angeles Kings: I Love L.A. by Randy Newman

Again, not your typical goal song, but Los Angeles’ self awareness deserves some props here. Plus, this song does pick up for the chorus, and it makes quite the upbeat jam after a goal.

Minnesota Wild: Let’s Go Crazy by Prince

How Wild fans voted to remove this song as their goal song in recent years is beyond me. Minnesota went with this Prince tribute after his passing, but honestly it makes a great goal song. It deserves to be brought back full-time without a doubt.
