2020 NFL mock draft: Dolphins trade up for Tua Tagovailoa
By Brad Weiss
The Miami Dolphins need a franchise quarterback, and they move up to the No. 3 overall spot to select Tua Tagovailoa in our latest 2020 NFL mock draft.
We are officially under ten days remaining until the 2020 NFL Draft, where teams will shape their future with new and exciting players. As we inch closer to the draft, let us take a look at our latest mock draft, where the Miami Dolphins cannot wait around until pick No. 5 for their new franchise quarterback.
Here is our latest 2020 NFL mock draft.
The Cincinnati Bengals hold the No. 1 overall pick, and while there have been whispers that they may be in the market to trade out, can they really pass on a franchise quarterback? Joe Burrow is fresh off a Heisman-winning campaign, has all the talent to dominate at the NFL level, and is actually from the state of Ohio.
As a franchise, Cincinnati has not won a playoff game in almost 30 years, despite the fact they have had some talented players come through the franchise. Burrow has already been on record saying that he is not a loser, and that kind of fire could be just what the organization needs to get over the hump.
The Bengals have talent on both sides of the ball, and they have one of the more productive wideouts in recent memory in A.J. Green. In addition, head coach Zac Taylor proved he can have this team playing competitive football last season, and the injection of an exciting young quarterback could make them a player in the AFC North next season.
The Washington Redskins are in prime position to turn the 2020 NFL Draft on its head next week, as they currently hold the No. 2 overall pick. Washington brought in a brand new head coach in Ron Rivera, who is a defensive genius, and they could select the best defensive player available in this slot.
However, if the Redskins do decide to move off the No. 2 pick, which is certainly a possibility, they could bring back a haul in return. Still, we like Rivera to pull the trigger on a generational edge rusher in Chase Young from Ohio State, who could end up being a double-digit sack guy at the next level.
Of course, Washington has a ton of needs on both sides of the ball, and trading with a team like the Miami Dolphins who have a ton of picks makes sense. In this mock, they stay in their slot and add Young, but who knows what is going to happen next Thursday night.
