Away: Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins are a team in the midst of their own reinvention after bringing in veteran head coach Ron Rivera and purging much of a roster put into place by front offices faces now departed. Still there’s enough talent here to keep the Redskins competitive and hopeful against an ascending young Bengals team.

This game will come down to a couple key points to watch on a greater scale. First, the Redskins have to come up with a long-term vision and developmental plan for Dwayne Haskins at quarterback. Last year, they treated him like a yo-yo at times, throwing him into the starter’s role one minute then questioning whether he’d play the next week. That’s a headache for a quarterback trying to learn all aspects of what it takes to be a successful signal caller at the highest level.

Another important point here can be found in the trenches. The Redskins can get after the quarterabck, so how will the Bengals offensive front hold up? Will Cordy Glenn be missed? How will Xavier Su’a-Filo hold up at right guard? Is Jonah Williams healthy and ready to take on the task of protecting Burrow’s blind side? These are important considerations. If the trenches hold true, the Bengals might have more surprises than expected.
