2nd round

Another reason for Brown being the pick in round one is that there will very likely be a talented corner who falls into the top of the second round.

Utah’s Jaylon Johnson could go as early as the middle of round one, but I think this is more the range he ends up. The Lions would be ecstatic to grab him with their second-round pick.

Johnson has ideal size (6-foot, 193 pounds) and physicality that Detroit covets in their defensive backs and would immediately help to ease the departure of Darius Slay. The Lions may have to trade up into the back half of round one to get him, but I think he’s a perfect fit for what they’re looking for to begin the rebuild of their secondary.
