3rd round

Believe it or not, the last Clemson offensive lineman to be taken in the NFL Draft was fourth-rounder Brandon Thomas by the 49ers all the way back in 2014.

John Simpson figures to get the Tigers’ hog mollies back on the draft board this year and gets scooped up by Green Bay in the third round.

Simpson is massive (6-foot-4, 321 pounds) and offers surprising athleticism for his size. He is an excellent drive blocker in the run game, with brutally strong hands to be able to turn defenders seemingly at will.

With Corey Linsley hitting free agency next season, the Packers could envision moving Elgton Jenkins back to his college position and slotting Simpson to eventually take his place at guard.
