3. Tight End

Adding a No. 2 wide receiver and tight end is another need for a team that lacks pass-catchers up front. Green Bay must everything it can to address this situation, but it’s not an easy one to tackle.

The Packers and Jimmy Graham moved on; 35-year old Marcedes Lewis re-signed with the team, but 2019 third-round pick Jace Sternberger is someone to watch. Sternberger could be a serious breakout candidate in 2020. However, the Packers need more than that at this position.

For the Packers, trying to find the next Travis Kelce or George Kittle won’t be easy. It would be difficult to acquire that caliber-level of talent. They might have had their sights set on Eric Ebron, but he signed a contract to join the Pittsburgh Steelers. In any case, there are always more options.

Unfortunately, the tight end depth on the free-agent market is thin. Green Bay could pull off a draft miracle by selecting a dual-threat tight end to challenge Sternberger. It’s the same thing some NFL teams do at the running back position; just look at Cleveland’s running back depth of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
