4. Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings re-upped and extended the contract for Kirk Cousins for two seasons. This means that at most, Cousins will be in Minnesota through the 2022 season. However, it may always be possible that the team could trade the incumbent if they have a viable quarterback of the future in place.

And many believe they’ll use the 2020 NFL Draft to begin groom that replacement. With 12 picks in the draft, including five in the first three rounds, it would seem to be an ideal time to consider such a selection. And Fromm fits the bill.

Fromm is relatively similar to Cousins in that he is a smart player who understands the field and the game, but lacks many of the physical traits necessary to sling it deep or rocket a bullet pass. Where Fromm could ultimately overtake Cousins is as a field general that commands the respect of the huddle and the locker room. Fromm’s big game experience, which include several marquee wins over SEC powerhouses like Alabama, will give him the instant credibility needed to thrive.

Fromm is also more talented than Cousins in terms of arm strength and accuracy. These traits on not strengths for the four year starter for Georgia, but they are places that he exceeds the Vikings’ current starter.

While other options exist for the Vikings, and they’ll have ample opportunity to pounce on them, taking Fromm at the back of the 3rd round could be the best choice.
