3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

What Fromm could really benefit from is going to a place where an established, veteran starter can groom and teach him the ropes before he ever has to take over. Ideally, that veteran will play for two more seasons and then Fromm will take over from there.

One of the best places for that to happen is in Tampa Bay. Newly acquired and future Hall of Fame starter Tom Brady has significant history at the quarterback position as it relates to grooming future NFL starters. Among those, of course, is the aforementioned Garoppolo.

Enter Jake Fromm to the fold, and the Bucs have a real shot at making a successful transition from Brady to the future. Brady certainly came to Tampa Bay with the expectation of winning and being competitive now. And certainly the team has a shot: Brady has never had a receiving corps as talented as he’ll have in Tampa. But, in a division with New Orleans, it seems unlikely the team is truly aiming for anything but a wild card birth in the playoffs.

But, where Tampa Bay can truly and most prudently win the Tom Brady signing, is in the post-Brady/Brees era. Brees and the Saints control the South until he retires. The reality is that whomever of the AFC South teams wins the quarterback of the future lottery will control the division for years to come. Carolina made their move with Teddy Bridgewater. Now its time for the Falcons, Bucs and Saints to make their move. And in fact, some argue Fromm is the best fit for Tampa in this current class of quarterbacks.

Packaging their fourth round picks to move into the back of the third round and take Fromm may prove to be the catalyst for a future Bucs success story.
