Cleveland Browns new uniforms power rankings
The new Cleveland Browns uniforms are here and we decided to power rank them because we’re really bored.
What is old is new again in Cleveland. The Browns released their new uniforms today and the reactions were primarily positive.
Cleveland is moving away from its last set of new uniforms released in 2015. The 2015 threads were so unpopular the team almost immediately started working on developing a new look to replace them.
Here is a look at the 2015 reveal:
That long-awaited day is finally here. The Browns dropped their new look today and while their 2020 unis are a big departure from the 2015-19 versions, the overall feel is very classic.

Since there are no sports being played and we can’t power rank teams, let’s go ahead and power rank these new Browns uniforms.

This one is easy. While I am personally a fan of the home uniforms, the all-white version is awesome. The white contrasts really nicely with the orange and brown stripes and give the classic Browns orange helmet a nice pop. It is a very clean look and the colors play nicely together.
Next up, I have to go with the home unis. This is another classic Browns look that isn’t terribly different than the uniforms Cleveland rocked when Jim Brown was terrorizing defenses. Yes, it is back to basics but this look wasn’t broken in the first place so credit the Browns for correcting the mistake they made last time around. The white and orange stripes on the sleeves provide a nice contrast to the all-brown top. I also love the white numbers here.
There is a pretty big gap for me between the first two looks and the second two looks. This combination isn’t necessarily bad but it isn’t great either. I’ve always felt like the dark pants, white jersey has always been the most “meh” combination among NFL uniforms. I’d rather have seen something more experimental here, like an all-orange look or even black uniforms with orange numbers. That would have struck a nice balance between the classic look the Browns wanted to bring back and some fun, new outside-the-box threads.
These are pretty much the “color rush” jerseys we have all been used to seeing in recent years. Choosing an all-brown uniforms isn’t necessarily the way I would go but these aren’t terrible. I do like the way the orange pops off of the Brown jersey and the lack of stripes on the sleeves is an interesting choice. Still, if the Browns were doing throwbacks, I’d of preferred the old “Kardiac Kids” uniforms with the orange pants. These are fine, I guess.
