1. WR Michael Gallup

The biggest breakout candidate on the Cowboys’ roster has to be wide receiver Michael Gallup. Dallas fans have been high on Gallup ever since he was taken as a third-round pick in 2018 and he rewarded their faith last season.

In just 14 games Gallup caught 66 passes for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns, a sign of his big-play potential. Gallup was targeted a hefty 113 times, so if he maintains his target share while upping his catch rate the results could be monstrous.

Opposing teams won’t be able to key on Gallup after his breakout performance due to the return of Amari Cooper either. Gallup’s role is the no. 2 wide receiver on this team so he should often be drawing one-on-one matchups he can easily beat.

The tools are all there for Gallup to team with Cooper and become the most dynamic duo of pass-catchers in the NFL. If Gallup maintains his big-play ability and catches 85 passes, he could end up with close to 1,500 receiving yards and double-digit touchdowns.

Those kinds of stats are elite, top-flight receiver stats, and if Gallup can get there in 2020 the Cowboys’ offense could be nearly impossible to stop. Gallup’s potential star turn could well be a king-maker in Dallas’ quest to regain the NFC East title.
