4. Jace Sternberger, tight end

A third-round pick out of Texas A&M last year, Jace Sternberger will get his chance at meaningful playing time as a second-year pro in 2020. Aaron Rodgers is notorious for being a demanding quarterback, even for young pass-catchers, which the Green Bay Packers have plenty of.

The Packers need a new starting tight end to emerge after letting Jimmy Graham join the Chicago Bears in free agency. Graham was well past his prime, while current veteran starter Marcedes Lewis would also be far from an ideal option.

Green Bay could target tight end on Day 2, but this class is weak. And Sternberger has more than enough talent to be the answer at the tight end position for the Packers. He was one of the SEC’s most productive players, showing an ability to move the chains, make big plays down the seam, and get open. Sternberger has the skill-set to be a reliable starting tight end whom Rodgers can rely on, and it will be exciting to see how he takes another step forward.

In a lot of ways, Sternberger’s development will be key to this offense. If Sternberger can emerge a as a legitimate top-three target in the Packers offense and the team can find a true standout receiver in the draft, then Rodgers should be in business.
