2nd round

The addition of Michael Pierce helps to shore up the Vikes’ run defense after the loss of Linval Joseph but they could use a twitchy interior pass rusher, as well.

Texas A&M’s Justin Madubuike checks that box and along with TCU’s Ross Blacklock, could even be in consideration for the latter of Minnesota’s two first-round picks.

Not only did Madubuike wear a number (52) fit for a linebacker in college, but at times his speed on the field made it look like he was one. The former Aggie ran a 4.83 40-yard dash but don’t overlook the fact that he also put up 31 bench reps.

I love Madubuike’s motor and consistent pad level, and even though he hasn’t quite developed enough as a run defender, you have to like his unique athleticism that should give him a chance at four or five sacks in his rookie year.
