3. Evan Engram will lead the team in catches

The best catcher on the Giants roster at the moment isn’t a wide receiver. Instead, it’s a tight end. Even Engram has the chance to blossom into an All-Pro if things break right for him.

He was limited to just eight games in 2019 due to injury, but he still managed to catch 44 passes for 467 yards last year. He may not double those totals if he stays healthy for a full 16 game slate in 2020, but he might come really close.

Engram’s large catch radius really helps give Jones a helpful margin for error when he’s making throws downfield. He may not be the fastest tight end in football, but he’s got enough speed to run away from linebackers and safeties. That allows him to use his superior size to dominate nickel corners who try to match-up with him.

If he stays healthy Engram should be in line to catch somewhere north of 70 balls this season. That should make him Jones’ top target on the season. That’s not a great outcome for the Giants, but it’s good for Engram as an individual.
