4. Josh Jones

Duane Brown can’t protect Russell Wilson’s blind side forever. That’s why this could be the year when the Seahawks invest a first round pick in his long-term replacement.

Jones is one of a number of tackle prospects who should go sometime in the late first, or early second round. The downside on taking him in Round 1 is that he’s not ready to play meaningful snaps right away. His footwork will require significant work at the NFL level.

The upside is definitely there to make Jones a quality starter at left tackle though. His ability to move in the open field is exceptional for a player with his size. That makes him a particularly intriguing fit for a run heavy offense like the Seahawks.

No. 27 might be a little too early to take Jones, but if he blossoms into a quality starter at left tackle it will provide Seattle with excellent value. At worst, he can upgrade Carroll’s options at swing tackle in the short-term. He’s worthy of close attention at the very least.
