2. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys were the most prominent suitor for Adams at the 2019 trade deadline, but they reportedly didn’t quite meet New York’s asking price.
The #Cowboys engaged in talks with the #Jets on S Jamal Adams and NYJ was only willing to part with Adams for a 1st rounder and two 2nd rounders, per me and @SlaterNFL. That is a LOT and shows Adams’ value.

#Cowboys tried... per source they offered a 1st and a third-day pick. https://t.co/cS6w1dLu08

For what it’s worth, a #Cowboys source has told me that Dallas inquired about Jamal Adams. The #Jets did not open the conversation. They picked up the phone.

Dallas did move to address their need at safety, signing Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in free agency. But Adams still fits in as an obvious upgrade to their safety mix, and the Jets’ premium asking price of a first and two seconds seems sure to drop now. If they are going to entertain trade offers, of course.
Adams-to-Dallas speculation is going to really ramp up again now. A deal might wind up waiting until the first round of the draft next Thursday night, but Jerry Jones has a good chance to get his man and bring the Texas native back home.
