1. QB Drew Lock

He was the second of John Elway’s two second-round draft choices a year ago. But highly-regarded University of Missouri quarterback Drew Lock would see his rookie campaign delayed after injuring his thumb in the preseason. He would return to practice in mid-November and head coach Vic Fangio made him the team’s third different starter behind center in Week 13 – replacing Brandon Allen who had taken over for Joe Flacco.

Lock would wind up starting the final five games of ’19 and the Broncos wound up winning four of them. His final numbers for the year showed that he connected on 64.1 percent of his throws for 1,020 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. Could it be that Elway has finally found his quarterback of the future after numerous attempts the last few offseasons?

Of course, five games does not a career make. But the young signal-caller did make quite the impression in a relatively short time. The team has beefed up the offense the last month or so with free-agent additions such as running back Melvin Gordon and offensive lineman Graham Glasgow. Can Lock pick up where he left off down the stretch and get this team back in the playoff picture?
