4. S Erik Harris

The well-traveled defender showed signs of his potential in a standout performance against Philip Rivers vs. the Los Angeles Chargers on a Thursday night at Oakland this past season. Safety Erik Harris finished that game with a pair of interceptions at the expense of the veteran signal-caller in the team’s Week 10 victory over the Bolts.

It was part of a career-year for the former undrafted free agent. The four-year pro played in all 16 contests and made 14 starts. He would up finishing second on the club in both tackles (68), was tied for second on the team in passes defensed (8) with cornerback Daryl Worley and wound up picking off a total of three passes – returning two for touchdowns.

And for good measure, he also added a half-dozen stops on special teams. Over the past two seasons, he’s total five interceptions and 15 passes defensed.

Despite those solid numbers, it’s worth mentioning that the organization added a pair of veterans in free agency in safeties Damarious Randall and Jeff Heath from the Browns and Cowboys, respectively. But will either actually unseat Harris? Or will the 6’2”, 220-pound veteran build on the best showing of his brief NFL career?
