1. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs had a perfectly mediocre rushing attack in 2019, finishing 23rd in the league in yards (98.1 per game), 20th in yards per carry (4.2) and firmly in the middle of the pack in touchdowns on the ground (14).

Damien Williams led Kansas City in rushing last year with 498 yards, as he averaged 4.5 yards per carry and 5.8 yards per target. A perfectly ordinary back, fitting what was a below average rushing attack. And last year’s 18.8 percent touchdown rate on red zone carries (3-for-16) is also less than ideal.

A Kansas City offense with a better running back would be virtually unstoppable, and patently unfair to opposing defenses. It wouldn’t be surprising if they draft a back, maybe with an early pick.

Fournette has had to overcome sub-optimal quarterback play in Jacksonville. That would of course go away when he landed alongside the elite Patrick Mahomes.

Fournette and the Chiefs would be a mutually beneficial relationship, and they should be at or near the front of the line to get him. Fantasy owners would also reap the rewards of the marriage, as Fournette would immediately become a candidate to be the overall RB1 for 2020.
