2020 NFL mock draft: Full 7 rounds without trades
Florida’s C.J. Henderson should be taken in the top half of the first round, and the Denver Broncos could certainly utilize someone with his talents. With the addition of A.J. Bouye, a second corner to pair with him could create one of the top defensive backfields in the league.
Henderson started all 13 games as a sophomore in 2018 tallying 38 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, seven pass breakups and two forced fumbles. He followed that up with a strong junior season in 2019. The corner racked up 33 tackles and 11 pass breakups, despite playing in just nine games due to an ankle injury. Henderson is often described as smooth as his footwork and match ability are elite.
Henderson has the speed to burst when he needs to recover or to stay with wide receivers the whole time on deep routes. If a QB eyes a receiver or hesitates, Henderson has the quick twitch ability to jump in front and take it away. He also limits YAC as a strong tackler that makes his move immediately. Open field tackling needs improvement to succeed in the run game, and his zone skills lack NFL level talent.
Additionally, Henderson seems lost in space on zones sometimes and will have to change that to stay on the field as a starter for a team like the Broncos.
