Pick Analysis. South Carolina. Javon Kinlaw. player. Scouting Report. IDL. 16. 44

Javon Kinlaw is a prospect that could go even earlier in the 2020 NFL Draft, but that is not how things shook out here. If he falls to the middle of the round to a team like the Falcons, he could become the steal of the draft. Some experts even have him ranked as the top defensive tackle in the class.

Atlanta is set with Grady Jarrett inside, but there is a huge lack of sufficient depth behind him. Kinlaw could easily fill that void. He has elite physical traits at 6-foot-5, 324 pounds and he uses that size to overpower opponents. In order to become the best player that he can be, Kinlaw will need to improve his body control and balance, and doing so behind Jarrett could prove to be extremely beneficial.

Kinlaw earned First-Team AP All-America and First-Team All-SEC honors as a senior last season with 35 tackles and six sacks in 12 starts. He was more dominant with his pressures than even those numbers suggest though, consistently pressuring opposing quarterbacks.

As a team, Atlanta ranked No. 29 in quarterback sacks a year ago, and they drastically need to improve that part of their team. Javon Kinlaw is an easy plug and play solution for the Falcons.
