Pick Analysis. EDGE. K'Lavon Chaisson. player. Scouting Report. LSU. 9. 52

Many experts have the Jaguars selecting an offensive tackle here in their mock drafts, but it is entirely possible the team goes in a different direction. Former LSU star K’Lavon Chaisson was actually seen working out while wearing Jags gear a few weeks ago. Jacksonville has a ton of defensive needs, and fans would love the chance to draft an edge player in this spot.

In 2018, Chaisson tore his ACL in the first game of the season, but he came back last year with a team-high 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks as the Tigers won the National Championship. Still, Chaisson is viewed as a somewhat boom or bust prospect, and that worries some teams.

As they rebuild though, the Jaguars could take the risk and potentially replace the production of Yannick Ngakoue who wants out. Chaisson can be a game-changer if things pan out, and he has freakish skills for someone this early in their career.

Chaisson doesn’t lack the normal flexibility or bend of taller and lengthier edge players, and that helps him to change direction and close in close quarters extremely well. He is limited against the run though, and that could have him off the field in red zone or short-distance downs.
