2nd round

Even after extending Jarran Reed for three years, Seattle needs to add another interior defender and Ohio State’s DaVon Hamilton figures to be high on their list of targets.

Hamilton had an excellent week at the Senior Bowl, another factor that seems to play into the Seahawks’ evaluation process.

Hamilton has the size and instincts to be a valuable run defender at the NFL level. With 40 games played over four seasons, the Seahawks figure to like his reliability and consistency. Seattle could look to use him in a rotation with Poona Ford in an effort to replace the contributions by Al Woods and Quinton Jefferson.

Perhaps more of a “wishful” pick than anything, Louisiana’s Robert Hunt is the offensive lineman I’m pounding the virtual table for in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Hunt played right tackle for the Ragin’ Cajuns but projects inside to guard at the next level, where I think he has the potential to be an All-Pro caliber player.

Hunt has length, power and sneaky athleticism to go along with a penchant for pancaking whenever he gets the opportunity. You can watch the life flash before the eyes of linebackers when he climbs to the second level and I’m most impressed with his ability to turn defenders to open up lanes in the run game.

The majority of Seattle’s incoming free agents on the offensive line are on one-year deals and I don’t think any of them inspire any faith that they’ll be even marginal upgrades for what the team has been putting out there the past few years.

The Seahawks have been talking quite a bit to Hunt in the pre-draft process, and taking him here would be an absolute steal in round two.
