Yannick Ngakoue wants to be traded as soon as possible
By John Buhler
Defensive end Yannick Ngakoue doesn’t care that the NFL Draft is coming up this weekend. He wants to be traded away from the Jacksonville Jaguars right now.
On the latest episode of the Jacksonville Jaguars being a ridiculous dysfunctional mess, defensive end Yannick Ngakoue goes after co-owner Tony Khan over Twitter.
Wait…what???
Yes, the disgruntled pass-rushing superstar wants out of Jacksonville faster than a hungover fan of the losing team at the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail party. Ngakoue is arguably the most underrated pass rusher in football. The former Maryland product was franchise tagged by the Jaguars, but has absolutely zero interest playing another snap down in Duval for London’s Finest.
Just out of the blue, Ngakoue just goes after Khan, the son of billionaire Jaguars owner Shahid Khan on Twitter. Get your popcorn ready. It’s about to be a fireworks show or a most glorious train wreck down in North Florida.

Well, that kind of says it all, doesn’t it?
Ngakoue calls Khan a name and demanding a trade. Khan says he’s social distancing and getting ready for a draft. Ngakoue isn’t buying into it. Khan says it’s a new regime in Jacksonville. Ngakoue doesn’t have time for speeches and wants to be traded. Khan says Ngakoue is doing a phenomenal job of driving down his trade market value. What a great soap opera this is becoming.
Jacksonville will likely be the worst team in the AFC next year. They have left many star players form yesteryear leave via trade or free agency. Ngakoue is one of the few primary holdovers from the 2017 AFC South Championship team that nearly made it to the Super Bowl. Jacksonville is prioritizing trying to move running back Leonard Fournette, but Ngakoue wants out now.
If Ngakoue were to go to a team in a bigger media market and play for a less dysfunctional franchise, you’re looking at a perennial Pro Bowler and one of the three best players on a given NFL team. He’s that talented of a player, and it’s a shame it’s gotten this nasty between him, Khan and the rest of the Jaguars organization.
Next: Best NFL player from each state
Bridges are being burned like the rubber on the track over in Daytona. This is a nightmare if you’re Jacksonville. You’re trying to figure out what to do with your 12 NFL Draft picks and now you have to seriously think about trading Fournette and Ngakoue within the next 72 hours.
It’s only going to get weirder and more uncomfortable the longer this goes on. Just trade the guy.
