2. Aaron Rodgers’ interception total will double

One of the most amazing statistics from the Packers’ 2019 season is the fact that Rodgers only threw four interceptions all season. He’s an exceptionally accurate passer, but dumb luck was a factor in keeping his total that low.

The exceptional protection he got from his two offensive tackles was also a contributing factor. David Bakhtiari will return to keep Rodgers’ blind side clean, but losing Bryan Bulaga on the right is going to be an issue. Going from Bulaga to Ricky Wager is going to be a downgrade for the team in terms of pass protection.

The combination of Rodgers’ luck regressing to the mean and seeing more pressure from the right edge will cause his interception total to spike all the way up to eight. That’s still a high quality season for any starting quarterback, but it’s going to cause the Packers’ offense to sputter even more in 2020.

For the record, Rodgers is not going to be the reason that Green Bay’s offense takes a dip next year. He’s still exceptional. The blame for those struggles should be laid at the feet of his coaching staff.
