Pittsburgh Steelers on the road

What kind of team are the Pittsburgh Steelers going to be next season? Nobody really knows, but we do know they will get Ben Roethlisberger back after he missed almost all of last season. The Steelers will look to return to prominence and possibly take back the AFC North from the Baltimore Ravens.

These two teams are in similar situations. They both have aging quarterbacks still trying to hold onto their star power. In fact, the only two starters older in the NFL today is Tom Brady and Drew Brees. It’s clear Rivers and Roethlisberger are looking for one or two final runs, but it’s not clear if they have the right rosters around them to make it happen.

These two teams are extremely similar, so it could be another case where at the end of the season, the Steelers and Colts are fighting for final spots in the playoffs. On top of that, the Colts will want a marquee win. While the Steelers aren’t the team they used to be, they still carry the aura of a team worth beating. If they go down with Big Ben under center, it still means something.

Rivers will look to take out the man who he will always be tied to because of draft position. We have to imagine, with Eli Manning retiring, that this will be the last time for the three greats from the 2004 NFL Draft. Rivers needs to get the win. If not just for himself, but for the team and its playoff chances.
