The Super Bowl odds are shining favorably on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after trading for Rob Gronkowski and reuniting him with Tom Brady.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are offseason champions after signing Tom Brady and now trading for Rob Gronkowski.

It’s not enough to make New England South the Super Bowl favorites entering the NFL Draft. They make the Buccaneers Super Bowl contenders, but they’re holding the fifth-best odds, according to OddsShark with +1100 odds.

That puts them behind the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints.

The Draft, which begins on Thursday will change the Super Bowl odds, but entering the draft, these odds make the most sense. It’s chalk.

The reigning champs return most of the team and Patrick Mahomes continues to get better.

The Ravens still have the reigning MVP and Lamar Jackson continues to get better.

The 49ers might have a bit of a Super Bowl hangover after losing to the Chiefs but the defense is one of the best in the NFL.

After the New Orleans Saints signed Emmanuel Sanders in free agency, I thought they had the best roster in the NFC.

After two big home runs with signing Brady and coaxing Gronkowski out of retirement, I think the Buccaneers should be the new favorites in the NFC despite what the OddShark odds reflect in the immediate aftermath.

Tampa Bay is all in and has radically changed the makeup of their team in two months.

The Bucs signed the best quarterback of all time and arguably the best tight end of all time and it only cost a fourth round pick and salary cap space to do so.

Depending on what happens in the first round on Thursday, there could be another shakeup in the Super Bowl odds hierarchy. The Buccaneers could draft an impact player like Derrick Brown or Javon Kinlaw to solidify the interior defensive line. Or they could try to get one of the top four offensive tackles and give Brady more help so he has room to find Gronkowski, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin.

No team has more momentum behind them than the Buccaneers with Brady and Gronkowski.

It’s been one of the best duos in NFL history for the last decade in New England and it’s going to look different in Tampa Bay but there is a lot left in the tank for at least one more great run at a Super Bowl.

Sign me up for a Saints vs. Buccaneers NFC Championship Game. Brady vs. Drew Brees. The world needs it.

The AFC looks like a clear two-team race between the Chiefs and Ravens. The Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans should make the postseason but the rest of the conference is full of a bunch of teams that could go 4-12 or 8-8. The Chiefs and Ravens will have an easier path to the Super Bowl and will have better odds as a result.

Tampa Bay is going to be on primetime practically every week this season. It’ll be the prevailing storyline in the NFL, perhaps in all sports, depending on the fate of a college football season this fall and other professional sports.

The Bucs are definitely Super Bowl contenders and seeing Brady and Gronk holding up the Lombardi Trophy and another Super Bowl MVP would be sickening for Patriots fans. But it would be one of the coolest stories in NFL history too.

The Bucs are a fun sentimental pick to bet and pick to win the Super Bowl. Because they’re not the favorite, you can actually throw down some money and get a decent return, which you don’t if you bet chalk.

So put down your wagers now before the draft changes things.
