5 players who should also unretire and play with Tom Brady

2. Marshawn Lynch

Lynch came out of retirement to fill a void for the injury-riddled Seattle Seahawks very late last season, and he had four touchdowns on 30 carries over three games (two playoff games). He has unretired one other time of course, sitting out the 2016 season before playing 21 games for his hometown Oakland Raiders over the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

The Buccaneers have struggled to find a competent rushing attack for a number of years now. Ronald Jones showed a bit of promise when given a greater opportunity last year, as he topped 1,000 yards from scrimmage. But the team seems set on finding another back in the draft to pair with him, if not outright replace him in a lead role right away.

It’s an incredibly small sample, but Lynch averaged just 2.8 yards per carry for Seattle last year. However, over more extended action the previous two seasons with the Raiders, he topped four yards per carry in each campaign with 10 total rushing scores. In a limited or specialized role, “Beast Mode” should have something left to offer.

Lynch is celebrating his 34th birthday on Wednesday, and the social media GIFs about him heading to Tampa Bay are too easy.
