4. A rookie wide receiver will catch 50 passes

Just because the Saints already have a prolific passing attack doesn’t mean they have sufficient talent at the wide receiver position. Things get pretty thin after Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders on the depth chart.

Fortunately, this year’s draft class is chock-full of high-end talent at wide receiver. The Saints may use that to their advantage when they go on the clock with the No. 24 overall selection.

Even if they don’t nab a highly rated wideout in Round 1, they’ll come back later in the draft and find a guy who can help them immediately. On Day One they can draft a future star like Justin Jefferson. If they wait until a later round they may come away with a less polished prospect like Brandon Aiyuk or K.J. Hamler.

The wide receiver they draft is going to walk into a dream scenario. He’ll only see single coverage due to all of the other weapons around him. That will allow him to catch at least 50 passes from Brees over the course of a full season.
