The Cincinnati Bengals just saw their new franchise quarterback join the team in the start of the virtual NFL Draft. Fans of the long-struggling franchise finally had something to get excited about.

The NFL Draft gave fans one of the first live sports events in what feels like forever. The world has been rocked by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the NFL was been steadfast in going forth as if things will be back to normal once the season starts. To start off this virtual draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow rode one of the greatest one-season rises all the way to greatness. He was a preseason 200/1 longshot to win the Heisman Trophy, with the likes of Shea Patterson and Jake Fromm well ahead of him. Not only did he win the Heisman Trophy, but he took the Tigers all the way to the National Championship.

Fans were as excited as we thought they’d be. They were as loud on Twitter as the virtual boos were against Roger Goodell. Just look at some of these reactions, showing Bengals fans can’t wait to welcome the Ohio boy to come save their franchise.

Joe Burrow even has some jumping on the bandwagon!

However, not everyone is sold on Burrow. Maybe this is a joke. We hope it’s a joke. It still wouldn’t be the worst opinion on Twitter, but it’s not far off.

Meanwhile, Adam Schefter of ESPN shares a very interesting stat as Burrow was drafted.

And well before the NFL Draft, Burrow let us know, if you don’t like his look, there’s a reason for it.

He ended up wearing that Bengals hat pretty quickly, and had a very low key celebration which included hugs. No, not a virtual hug to Roger Goodell, we only got hugs to his parents.
