6. 2014: Josh Bailey, Ryan Strome go back-to-back with the spin-o-rama

Apologies to the great Martin Brodeur, but New York Islanders forwards Josh Bailey and Ryan Strome really got him good in 2014. The spin-o-rama is a sick shootout move — if you can pull it off — and it will show up later in these rankings once again, but Strome and Bailey grab this spot because they pulled the same move twice on a Hall of Fame goaltender.

Bailey gets Brodeur first with the spin-o-rama, pulling off the quick stop while swinging the puck around and into the wide-open net with his backhand. Strome’s attempt is a bit of a slower-moving play, but Brodeur still leaves the bottom of the net open for the rookie forward to slide the backhand behind the New Jersey Devils netminder.

Brodeur did not look at all like the Hall of Fame goaltender his is on that sequence of plays. The spin-o-rama is not a common shootout move, to be fair, but to fall for the same trick twice, one after another in the same game? Hilarious and worthy of being mocked, if only for a little bit. Sorry to this man.
