Buffalo Bills 2020 NFL Draft grades: A.J. Epenesa adds pass rush
The Buffalo Bills chose to address a less pressing need due to the talent left on the board in round three Friday night. Devin Singletary had a great rookie season in 2019, and he was being looked at as a work horse that would have to shoulder the load for the offense. That won’t be the case anymore.
Buffalo selected Utah’s Zack Moss to create a dynamic running back duo. The Bills like Moss so much that they even tried to trade up for him, as they thought he may be gone bfeore this pick.
“If we got a guy sticking out on our board and we have a need,” GM Brandon Beane explained. “I’m gonna try and go get him. It wasn’t gonna be anything crazy,” he said. “But we were talking to teams, maybe even seven ahead of us, for a late Saturday pick. But teams just kept picking and there was a lot of talk about people wanting to get out of there. But then we got there and nobody wanted to get out of the pick.”
Buffalo must have had a higher grade on Moss than most, because this seems like a reach. That said, it could all help Singeltary excel in year two, making this a decent selection.
