Detroit Lions 2020 NFL Draft grades: Jeffrey Okudah, D’Andre Swift headline promising class
Rounds 4-7
Detroit continues to add depth to the interior of the offensive line with the selection of Logan Stenberg. He was among the offensive linemen to help his case at the Senior Bowl after the season. The rushing attack has been a focus so far in the draft with Swift, Jackson and now Stenberg.
5th Round
Quintez Cephus was a productive receiver at Wisconsin where receivers don’t often get a lot of targets in a run-heavy offense. At 6-foot-1 and just over 200 pounds, Cephus has average speed and has struggled with drops in college.
Jason Huntley ran for more than 1,000 yards last year but he’ll be used as a return man, especially on kick returns where he has five career returns over his college career.
6th Round
Utah develops defensive linemen as well as any school in the Pac-12. John Penisini projects as a situational tackle who provides depth. He doesn’t have a lot of pass-rush ability and is limited at 6-foot-1 and 318 pounds but he can clog up the interior of the line.
7th Round
Jashon Cornell was a former big-time recruit who didn’t quite live up to the first-round potential envisioned when he came to Columbus. Still, this is the perfect type of player to gamble on late in the seventh round. At 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds, Cornell can be a nice fit as an end in an odd front and contribute to sub-packages.
