ILB. 23. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 815. Oklahoma. Kenneth Murray

This is a phenomenal pick. Murray has incredible speed, giving him the versatility to be an above-average blitzer while having coverage traits to coach up at the next level.

Murray provides the Chargers with an ability to cover tight ends and backs, allowing Denzel Perryman to do what he does best;  get downhill in the run game. Being able to cover had to be a huge lure for the Chargers, something they’ve struggled mightily to do in the seam and below the first-down marker.

In the AFC West, Murray will be charged with blanketing Noah Fant, Darren Waller and Travis Kelce. He’s someone who struggled a bit figuring out run fits at Oklahoma, but again, Los Angeles is far more concerned with Murray being able to get his drops and then run in man coverage. In this area, he has all the traits needed to excel.

Los Angeles made a big move to get up and snag Murray, but the need has been evident for years and Murray should finally complete that search.
