New York Giants 2020 NFL Draft grades: Andrew Thomas joins Big Blue
4th Round
The Giants add some depth to their secondary here with Darnay Holmes out of UCLA. Holmes, who functions best as a zone corner, should be a factor in dime packages and on special teams thanks to some great top-end speed.
5th Round
The commitment to hog mollies continues as the Giants grab another lineman in Oregon guard Shane Lemieux. The plan here appears to be for Lemieux to serve as depth this season with a goal of potentially developing into a starter down the road.
6th Round
The Giants did well to address their depth at linebacker with the selection of Cam Brown. A high-motor guy with the ability to play inside and outside, Brown could be a good candidate for special teams work.
7th Round
The Giants take a flier on a pass rusher here with Carter Coughlin, who should be able to fight for a role in sub-packages. Coughlin has deficiencies in coverage so he is more of a pure pass-rush specialist.
The Giants add some depth to their linebacking corps with TJ Brunson, who will likely have to contribute on special teams to make the active roster.
Dave Gettleman grabs yet another cornerback as Chris Williamson adds some more size to the Giants’ secondary.
Mr. Irrelevant is a Giant this year and he is Georgia linebacker Tae Crowder, joining fellow Day 3 draftees TJ Brunson and Cam Brown in New York’s linebacker room.
