2020 NFL Draft grades: Biggest winners and losers
San Francisco 49ers
The early stages of the draft were pretty boring for the San Francisco 49ers. In fact, most of the draft was. Although, Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch still found a way to make solid picks.
In the first round, Lynch found his DeForest Buckner replacement with Javon Kinlaw at pick 14. 11 picks later, Lynch moved up to get his quarterback a deep threat with Arizona State’s Brandon Aiyuk.
Then, Lynch made a trade before the final day on Saturday to bring Trent Williams to the 49ers before Round 4 began.
Lynch still turned picks into starters and drafted at positions where the team needed help. Even with the lack of action.

Los Angeles Chargers
Tom Telesco drafted Justin Herbert with the sixth pick. Needing a quarterback after Philip Rivers left, Telesco went with the former Oregon Duck.
Herbert saw his stock drop this past season. Some projected him as high as first overall at the start of the 2018 season. However, his passing dropped off a bit. But, he has the frame and potential to become a star in the NFL.
At pick 23, Telesco moved up to draft linebacker Kenneth Murray out of Oklahoma. He fell a bit, and Telesco jumped on it. Running back Joshua Kelley from UCLA was taken in the fourth to take the spot left by Melvin Gordon.
