. . Los Angeles Chargers. 26. team. 13.

2020 Key Additions: The Bolts may have struck gold twice in the first round of the draft as general manager Tom Telesco used the sixth overall pick on University of Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert. He has some big shoes to fill in taking over for Philip Rivers, who was not in the team’s plans going forward and is now a member of the Indianapolis Colts. The team also traded back into the first round and added University of Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray. Surprisingly, Telesco also obtained a quality piece for the offensive line in five-time Pro Bowl guard Trai Turner in a trade with the Carolina Panthers.

Offseason Review: The Chargers not only seven fewer games than they did in 2018 when they reached the playoffs with a 12-4 record, but their 2019 resume this past season included an 0-6 record within the AFC West. This was a club that figured to challenge the Chiefs in the division a year ago but took a turn for the worse and familiar faces such as Rivers and running back mark Melvin Gordon (Broncos) are no longer with the club. But this is a roster with more than its share of talent and it wouldn’t be that big of a surprise to see this team bounce back quickly. But there’s a long way to go between now and September.

25. team. 53. . . . Cleveland Browns

2020 Key Additions: After one season under Freddie Kitchens, it’s now up to former Vikings’ offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski to turn things around with this club. In terms of acquisitions, it has been a somewhat quiet offseason for the team. But the team signed four-year right tackle Jack Conklin, who surprisingly did not have his fifth year option picked up by the Tennessee Titans. The Browns scooped up that prize and went on to add another quality blocker in the draft in tackle Jedrick Wills (Alabama) with the 10th overall pick. And the addition of Austin Hooper means the Browns are loaded at tight end.

Offseason Review: The numbers are disturbing but certainly worth mentioning once again. The Browns are a combined 101-234-1 since returning to the league as an expansion team in 1999. Now it’s up to Stefanski – the club’s 12th different sideline leader since 1999 – to turn things around. New general manager Andrew Berry has his work cut out for him as well but this is a team that has more than its fair share of talent and he appeared to add some much-needed help at both tackle spots in Wills and Conklin. It’s been a calmer few months for this franchise, one that hasn’t reached the postseason since 2002.
