2021 NFL mock draft: Jacksonville Jaguars land Trevor Lawrence
By Brad Weiss
This is going to be an interesting season in New England, as they will not have six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady under center for the first time in 20 years. New England is planning on rolling with Jarrett Stidham as Brady’s successor, so they could finish anywhere from a playoff team to outside of the playoffs looking in.
Looking at next year’s draft class, the Patriots should attack the secondary, and Caden Sterns would be a nice addition to their aging unit. Sterns has the talent to play all over the defensive backfield and would be a nice long-term plan with the McCourty twins starting to come to the end of their careers.
The Seattle Seahawks targeted their defense in the first two rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft, bringing in Texas Tech linebacker Jordyn Brooks in the first round, and then Tennessee defensive end Darrell Taylor in the second. The drafting of Taylor likely means Jadeveon Clowney is done in Seattle, ending that relationship after only one year.
Looking at 2021, the Seahawks still have to improve their defensive backfield, and they get a good one at pick No. 22 in Paulson Adebo. This kid would have been a first-rounder had he come out last year, but he lands in a perfect spot with the Seahawks, who are a few pieces away from Russell Wilson winning his second ring.
