Cat fights and stage fright: Can I Steal You? talks Listen to Your Heart episode 3
Listen to Your Heart is in uncharted territory as the music competition element of The Bachelor spin-off kicks into gear.
The Bachelor presents Listen to Your Heart is walking a fine line. On one hand, it’s still a show about “finding love.” That is priority no. 1, as Chris Harrison reminds the gang at the start of this week’s episode. But it’s also a music competition, where ultimately roses are given out by a group of judges who are evaluating the strength of each couple’s relationship based their musical performances.
After some drama, some departures and some dates, seven couples were given producer-assigned songs for the first competition. With Kesha, Jason Mraz and JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers judging, our motley crew of musical couples took the stage to perform their love.
Here’s a brief rundown/reminder of who performed what:
- Rudi and Matt: “Fallin’ All in You” by Shawn Mendes
- Bri and Chris: “Beyond” by Leon Bridges
- Bekah and Danny: “Ho Hey” by the Lumineers
- Savannah and Brandon: “I Want You to Want Me” by Cheap Trick
- Natascha and Ryan: “Stay” by Rihanna
- Julia and Sheridan: “As Long as You Love Me” by Backstreet Boys
- Jamie and Trevor: “I Could Use a Love Song” by Maren Morris
It was an uneven start, to say the least. None of the couples really radiated chemistry, though both Rudi and Natascha shined as solo artists. Still, there’s time (but not too much time — bless the six-episode set-run) and we remain all-in.
