player. Scouting Report. 2. Philadelphia Eagles. Carson Wentz. 54. Pick Analysis. QB

Even though Carson Wentz has quarterbacked three playoff teams in his four years with the Philadelphia Eagles, he has started one career postseason game and lost that this past winter to the Seattle Seahawks at home. While the Eagles won Super Bowl 52 during a near MVP season for him in 2017, it was Nick Foles who started in that big game vs. the New England Patriots.

Wentz has had downright awful luck with injuries late in the season, as he wasn’t even able to finish the NFC Wild Card game at home vs. Seattle last year. Journeyman Josh McCown had to fill in for him during the second half once Wentz suffered a concussion. While Wentz needs to get the playoff victory monkey off his back stat, the Eagles should be a playoff team again in 2020.

They are the presumptive favorite in the NFC East ahead of the decent Dallas Cowboys and a pair of rebuilding teams in the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins. If everything hits right for the Eagles, they have an outside shot at being the No. 1 seed in the NFC this postseason. Wentz has the talent to win multiple playoff games but seems to lack the durability to do so.

The reason Wentz ranks so high on this list is his team is loaded. Few teams in football can safely say they’re the clear favorites to win their division and the Eagles are one of them. With a clean bill of health, Wentz can lead the Eagles back to the Super Bowl, only this time he’ll be the starter. His reputation as a dependable quarterback is on the line and he needs to avoid injury this fall.
