Fantasy Football Loser: Devin Singletary

Singletary was a third-round draft pick out of Florida Atlantic University in 2019, and was in a committee with future Hall of Fame Frank Gore. Singletary still got the bulk of the workload, averaging 16.6 touches per game as opposed to Gore’s 11.7. Singletary also was targeted 4.1 times a game, while Gore saw just one pass per game go his way.

Gore is currently a free agent, so 2020 will be a coming out party for Singletary, right?

Well…

The Bills drafted Zack Moss in the third-round out of Utah. Moss rushed for 1,416 yards and 15 touchdowns last season, both the most in the Pac 12. Moss became a pro as Utah’s all-time leading rusher, and he was the Pac 12 Offensive Player of the Year last year.

2019 was no fluke, either – it was his third-consecutive 1,000-plus rushing yard season. He averaged more rushing yards per game (121.8) in 2018 than last year (108.9), but he became a much bigger threat through the air.

While Singletary is the clear frontrunner for the starting job in Week 1, it’s going to be tough to see much of an improvement from his 12.3 points per game last season.
