3. Away: New Orleans Saints

It has been a minute since the Packers played the New Orleans Saints. The last time these two teams met was in October of 2017 when the Saints beat Green Bay 26-17 at Lambeau Field.

Things have picked up for New Orleans since then, with the Saints emerging as one of the NFL’s best teams over the past few years. The Saints and Packers actually finished with the same record last season but Green Bay won a tiebreaker, sending New Orleans into the Wild Card round.

The difference between having the bye or not was massive for the Saints, who ended up losing at home to the Minnesota Vikings on Wild Card weekend. Green Bay was able to relax at home and used their bye to prepare for the Seattle Seahawks, who they beat to advance to the NFC Championship Game.

This contest could also be the final regular-season meeting between Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees, two future Hall-of-Famers who are stuck on one Super Bowl ring. A second championship would enhance the legacy for either player significantly, so finding any possible playoff edge would be huge.

This game will have enormous stakes in the NFC playoff picture since the winner could have a leg up for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. This contest will take place at the Superdome so Rodgers will need to have a huge effort to help the Packers pick up this much-needed road win.
