1. Away: San Francisco 49ers

There is no doubt that the NFC Championship Game rematch is the biggest game on the Packers’ schedule this season. Green Bay has to go out to Levi’s Stadium again to take on the San Francisco 49ers and is looking for a better result than they got last season.

The 49ers absolutely dominated both meetings with the Packers in 2019, crushing Green Bay on their way to the Super Bowl. One of the big problems for Green Bay was poor offensive line play, which San Francisco took advantage of to make Aaron Rodgers run for his life all game long.

The 49ers were also able to take advantage of the fact that Green Bay has few dependable receiving options, double-teaming Davante Adams to take him away from Rodgers. The rest of the Packers’ pass-catchers couldn’t get open on a regular basis, leading to more coverage sacks.

The way that Green Bay was absolutely destroyed in both games can create a mental hurdle against San Francisco, especially if the 49ers beat the Packers again this season. A loss in San Francisco would give the 49ers the much-needed postseason tiebreaker and likely assures a playoff rematch would occur out west again.

Beating San Francisco isn’t just important for Green Bay’s postseason positioning but for the team’s psyche as a whole. The Packers need to know they can beat this 49ers’ team, making that game the most important one they have to win this season.
